The Friends of the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA is thrilled to join charitable organizations across the globe participating in this largest giving day of the year.

Our organization has set a goal to raise $10,000 in just 24 hours! With your help, we can do it! The impact of your donations will:

  1. Enable us to expand our Teen Advisory Council that is dedicated to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and advocating for the mental health and well-being of high school students. This program was created in response to the Surgeon General’s advisory about the youth mental health crisis in this country.

  2. Support the Gen Z Wellness Summit, scheduled for March 2, 2025, that will bring together Los Angeles high school and college students to attend a day of inspiring and engaging conversations and activities highlighting today’s unique youth mental health challenges.

  3. Continue to fund research through our Friends of Semel Research Scholar Grant program that awards grants to early career neuroscientists at the forefront of new discoveries about the mind and brain.

  4. Produce the Open Mind Film Festival for High School Students that gives youth a platform to create short original films about mental health issues affecting them and their peers.

  5. Sponsor the Open Mind, our lecture and film series that brings together thought leaders in science and culture for relevant and meaningful programs about mental health.

We remain grateful and honored for your support.

Every dollar makes a difference.
