Dr. David Freedberg, best known for his work on the psychological responses to art, discussed the relationship between art, history, and cognitive neuroscience. He argued that our appreciation for art is rooted not only in our aesthetic sense, but also in how ouir brains process imagery, emotion, and movement.

Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson discussed her book and work at UCLA with the PEERS Program (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills), which teaches social skills to teens and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

More than 500 fabulous friends of The Friends filled a glittering ballroom at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons hotel for Music and the Mind: A Symphony of Science and Art. The gala brought together world-class musicians, actors, scientists and scholars for a program that illuminated the connections between music and human thought and emotion.
