Gen Z Wellness Summit Fact Sheet

When: Sunday, February 25th 9:30-1PM

Where: UCLA Luskin Conference Center, 425 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90025

Presented by: UCLA’s Friends of the Semel Institute’s Teen Advisory Council, comprised of high school students from public and independent schools in the greater Los Angeles area.

 

In Collaboration with: UCLA Semel Institute faculty, UCLA Center for Scholars and Storytellers, UCLA Focus, GetLit, Talk with Zach, a Gen Z Instagram mental wellness platform hosted by Teen Advisory Council member, Zack Gottlieb. A very special thank you to Selena Gomez’s Rare Impact Fund for its support of the Teen Advisory Council. 

Who will attend: We anticipate up to 750 high school students from the greater Los Angeles area to attend as well as students from the UCLA Active Minds Chapter. Parents, Teachers, Counselors, and School Administrators and others concerned with the well-being of Gen Z students are welcome.

 

Cost: FREE for students.  Sponsorship opportunities are available. Please see attachment. 

WHY:

In response to the US Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy’s advisory stating that there is a mental health crisis among our youth today, The Friends of Semel’s Teen Advisory Council is hosting a Gen Z Wellness Summit featuring inspiring and informative conversations that address the unique challenges of their generation:  

  • Loneliness and Isolation

  • Anxiety and Depression

  • Eating Disorders

  • Social Media

  • Climate Change

  • Gender Identity

  • JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) 

  • Teen Suicide

  • Relationships

 

Presenters: 

Students, UCLA Semel Institute faculty, Gen Z White House mental health advocates, sports celebrities, influencers, musicians, poets, spoken word artists, and others interested in mental health.
