Dr. Dilip Jeste, world-renowned neuropsychiatrist and pioneer in the exploration of neurobiology and psychology, has led the search for the biological and cognitive roots of wisdom. In his critically acclaimed new book Wiser: The Scientific Roots of Wisdom, Compassion and What Makes Us Good, he shows us how we can take control of our lives by increasing our wisdom, at any stage in life. Shafli Jeste, M.D., will join her renowned father in conversation. Dr. Jeste is the recipient of the 2019 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers. Her research is focused on developing more precise methods for early predication and diagnosis of neurodevelopment disorders, including autism, using biomarkers, and other genetic information with the ultimate goal of improve the timing and targets of treatment for these conditions. Dr. Jeste has just been named Chief of Neurology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and will begin her tenure there in July.
