Beyond the Bipolar Label: A Workbook to Overcome Self-Stigma, Break Free from shame, and Live Authentically

Living with bipolar disorder often involves more than managing symptoms; it can also mean carrying feelings of shame, self-doubt, and embarrassment. These experiences are often fueled by self-stigma; the negative beliefs people internalize about themselves because of their diagnosis. Although self-stigma is one of the most significant challenges facing people with bipolar disorder and other mental illnesses,  it is rarely discussed and even less often addressed.

Join us for an inspiring and practical presentation with Dr. Andrea Vassilev, creator of Beyond the Bipolar Label, the first self-guided workbook designed specifically to help people recognize and overcome self-stigma and shame. Drawing on both clinical research and nearly 30 years of lived experience with bipolar disorder, Dr. Vassilev will share evidence-based strategies to foster self-acceptance, resilience, and greater well-being.

The workbook builds on Dr. Vassilev's internationally recognized Overcoming Self-Stigma in Bipolar Disorder program, now being implemented in multiple countries and languages. Early clinical trial results have demonstrated strong effectiveness, with peer-reviewed publications forthcoming.

Whether you live with bipolar disorder or other mental illness, support someone who does, or work in the mental health field, this presentation will offer valuable insights into an often-overlooked aspect of recovery along with practical tools for moving beyond the label.
