Please send us your short films (five minutes or less) telling stories about mental health and wellness. Previous films have addressed anxiety, social media pressure, gender identity, and much more.
Singer/Songwriter Em Beihold to Host
The Open Mind Film Festival will be hosted by Em Beihold, who tells her stories and shares her feelings by composing and performing original songs. Her first runaway hit song, Numb Little Bug, was produced in 2022 after which she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Late Late Show with James Corden. Her debut album, Tales of a Failed Shapeshifter, was released this month and will be followed by a tour across Europe and the United States.
Finalist films will be judged by a panel consisting of members of the entertainment industry and mental health professionals and compete for cash awards: First Place: $1500, Second Place: $1200, Best Animation: $1200 and Friends Choice: $1000.
The Open Mind Film Festival will be held at the James Bridges Theater on the UCLA campus on Sunday, April 26 at 1 PM.
